Safety Drill Notification
On Monday, December 16, 2019, Woodsville conducted one of the ten emergency drills required by law and recommended by FEMA. At approximately 10:30 AM we conducted a “lockdown drill”. A Lockdown is activated when it is necessary to protect staff and students from a violent intruder or any other situation, such as a wild animal in the school, that would entail securing staff and students in their classrooms, common areas, or other rooms that are able to be locked.
Monday’s drill was conducted in conjunction with the Haverhill Police Department, a State Police Trooper and dog. The focus of the lockdown was the main building and the 1969 wing. The trooper’s dog, thankfully, did not indicate the presence of any contraband and the drill was very successful.
