On this Day in History:
April 17th, 1970 – Apollo 13–originally scheduled to land on the moon–lands back safely on Earth after an accident.

#FoodieFriday

French silk pie

1pk cream cheese (room temp)

6oz chocolate (melted and cooled)

1/4 cup water

1/3 cup sugar (or substitute)

4cups whipped topping

Graham cracker crust (optional)

Melt chocolate with water. Beat cream cheese and sugar together, slowly add the cooled chocolate. When blended add 3 cups of topping to the mix. Spread in pie crust or layer in serving glasses. Top with remaining topping and chill for 3 hours.

I love this recipe, it’s easy to adjust like I need a gluten free dessert to bring to a gathering? Just omit the crust. Have a diabetic friend use a sugar substitute. You can also add a layer of peanut butter to it or a layer of raspberry jam is good too. This recipe has been a staple for me and one that everyone asks for after one bite. Enjoy from my kitchen to yours!
